Main focus of London group

There is not a formally constituted London Branch. However, there is a group of London members who carry out campaigns and who meet socially

Partnerships and collaborations

We work in partnership with Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT), Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) and Peace Pledge Union (PPU).

Weekly events

Every Wednesday 18:00–19:00 Women in Black Against Militarism and War silent vigil at the Edith Cavell memorial, opposite the National Portrait Gallery.

Every Saturday 12:00–13:00 Women in Black silent vigil for Gaza outside Friends House, Euston Road.

Annual events

January We commemorate and celebrate the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons on 22 January.

March We organise a social gathering at Eastern Curve, Dalston.

May International Conscientious Objectors’ Day is on 15 May, and we gather in Tavistock Square for the ceremony.

June We run a stall at the Well Street Common Festival in Hackney on the second Sunday in June.

July We organise a social gathering at Eastern Curve, Dalston.

August We join an event on 6 August in Tavistock Square to commemorate Hiroshima Day, and on 9 August to remember Nagasaki.

September We take part in demonstrating at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) arms fair in Docklands, held alternate years.

October We organise a social gathering at Eastern Curve, Dalston.

November We sell white poppies for peace and, on Remembrance Day on 11 November, we attend the alternative remembrance event in Tavistock Square, and lay our white peace poppy wreath.

Local group meetings

We meet up every three months or so for a social gathering at Eastern Curve, Dalston, on a Saturday between 14:00 and 16:00.
