This International Women’s Day we joined our sisters at Women in Black against War and Militarism, and others, for the Million Women Rise march and rally in London to protest against the global epidemic of male violence against women and all gender-based harms.
“We march in sisterhood, solidarity and unity, to protest the lack of action to address male violence. We march to remember, and grieve, the countless women and girls who have been killed through male violence, including through state inflicted / sanctioned abuse.”
Patriarchy and militarism have built a global culture of male violence which threatens the lives and freedoms of women across the world. In a context of geo-political turmoil and the rise of far-right, oppressive ideologies we have to stand in solidarity with our sisters everywhere and fight for gender equality, gender justice and feminist peace.
Together we can end male violence against women!
