WILPF works with and through our wide and diverse membership of feminist activists and peace-builders to create a powerful voice for peace. Women join WILPF UK from all over the country because they are inspired by belonging to – and campaigning with – WILPF. Feminist, pacifist and anti-militarist in our values and approach, we promote and amplify the voices of women and allies who are advancing peaceful and sustainable alternatives to crises and conflicts.
Our Branches are a great way of connecting local WILPF members, and getting active by campaigning in your area. All types of member activism are welcome, whether you choose to join us visibly on the street through vigils and leafleting, or campaigning from home through lobbying the government and media with model letters posted on our website or becoming active in WILPF by joining our Executive Committee.
When you become a member you can join your local Branch to stay updated with events and actions, and have the opportunity to meet and campaign alongside like-minded women.
If there is no Branch in your local area, there are lots of other ways to get involved. However, you could consider starting your own Branch or Group! Every Branch needs a lead representative, secretary and treasurer, while groups are more informal. With a minimum of four women, you can get a WILPF UK group started in your area, and this can grow into an active Branch.
Do contact us at ukwilpf.peace@gmail.com so we can put you in touch with other WILPF members in your area. We’d love to hear from you!
