The Global Days of Action on Military Spending (GDAMS) have been underway from 10 April – 9 May. These global actions coincide with the release of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) figures on world wide military spending.
Global military spending reached $2.7 trillion, representing a 9.4% increase in 2024 compared to the previous year, according to SIPRI estimate. GDAMS 2025 calls for a shift from war spending to real security: disarmament, human rights, and climate justice which WILPF strongly endorses.
