The WILPF UK Executive Committee has agreed on a three-year strategic plan to focus on degrowth, by taking a lead in the UK in opposition to endless economic growth. The planet can no longer sustain limitless growth. Our current capitalist system and therefore our national economies demand growth. But it is not just fossil fuel extraction that needs to stop, it is all elements of the western planned obsolescence, advertisement-driven lifestyle that need to change. We can support the poorest economies to grow to an equitable lifestyle while we de-grow.
