Taniel Yusef

Taniel holds a LLM in International Economic Law, Justice and Development, with associate LLM study in Laws of Armed Conflict, International Humanitarian Law, Trade, Peace-building, Feminist Legal Theory and others. She subsequently began research into weapons technology, quantum computing and artificial intelligence, embarking on a MSC in artificial intelligence.

Taniel currently sits on WILPF’s International Advisory Board, and was previously WILPF UK’s International Liaison Representative to WILPF International leading on Feminist Economics, Trade and Disarmament Affairs.

At the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk, Cambridge University, she works on regulation, risk modelling and translation linking ai, autonomous weapons, cyber, nuclear and outer space threats. As an ICAN member she contributed to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). As Technology Developers Coordinator, and founding member, of the UK Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, she coordinated, produced and presented research highlighting problematic technological issues across the Lifecycle of Autonomous Weapons Systems (AWS), and associated behavioural and commercial concerns.

Taniel is also a Lecturer in Humanitarian Intervention MSc, and an on-the-ground researcher.

Join the WILPF UK Executive Committee

If you have been a member of WILPF for more than six months and would like to be more involved, you could become a member of our Executive Committee. Members can be nominated for election or co-opted onto the Committee throughout the year if there are vacancies.

Members of the Executive Committee are expected to contribute throughout the year and attend Executive meetings. Matters which will not wait until the next meeting are dealt with by email discussion, and Executive Committee members are expected to respond.

Meetings are currently held on Zoom, and any member who is interested can join any meeting, whether or not they are a member of the Executive Committee. Try it and see if it is for you!
