Communications Lead, Office Administrator

Eliza Broadbent

Eliza completed her MSc in Gender, Peace and Security at LSE in 2023, where she developed her interest in conflict prevention and feminist peace-building. During her studies she was introduced to WILPF as a pioneering feminist peace-building organisation, and she subsequently took up the part-time role of Office Administrator, helping with the day-to-day running of WILPF UK.

Her academic interests focussed on the concept of reproductive violence as a lens to show how systems of oppression transcend binaries of war and peace. Eliza has always been an avid environmentalist and had enjoyed being able to foster her interests in demilitarisation and women, peace and security. Drawing on her background in TV and film production, in 2024 she became WILPF UK’s Communications Lead and she also leads on women, peace and security campaigning.

Join the WILPF UK Executive Committee

If you have been a member of WILPF for more than six months and would like to be more involved, you could become a member of our Executive Committee. Members can be nominated for election or co-opted onto the Committee throughout the year if there are vacancies.

Members of the Executive Committee are expected to contribute throughout the year and attend Executive meetings. Matters which will not wait until the next meeting are dealt with by email discussion, and Executive Committee members are expected to respond.

Meetings are currently held on Zoom, and any member who is interested can join any meeting, whether or not they are a member of the Executive Committee. Try it and see if it is for you!

If you would like to know more about the Executive Committee or attend a meeting, please get in touch with the Secretary at ukwilpf.peace@gmail.com.
