Executive Committee member
Cath retired in 2020 after 35 years working in health and social care. Since then, she has focused on peace, the environment and electoral reform (and grandparenting) and joined Women in Black after COVID ended. She has been involved in left wing politics all her life (sadly leaving the Labour Party in 2023 in frustration). Her grandfather was a conscientious objector and her mother an active member of Pax Christi so she has also been a member of Pax Christi and CND for many years. Cath volunteers at Oxfam, delivers food parcels, and is a Trustee of her local community centre.

If you have been a member of WILPF for more than six months and would like to be more involved, you could become a member of our Executive Committee. Members can be nominated for election or co-opted onto the Committee throughout the year if there are vacancies.
Members of the Executive Committee are expected to contribute throughout the year and attend Executive meetings. Matters which will not wait until the next meeting are dealt with by email discussion, and Executive Committee members are expected to respond.
Meetings are currently held on Zoom, and any member who is interested can join any meeting, whether or not they are a member of the Executive Committee. Try it and see if it is for you!
If you would like to know more about the Executive Committee or attend a meeting, please get in touch with the Secretary at ukwilpf.peace@gmail.com.
