Zsuzsi was a stalwart member of the Orpington Branch of WILPF for a number of years. She regularly attended our meetings and reported back on other activities in which she was active or represented us.
Zsuzsi came to the UK in 1956 with her brother after the Hungarian uprising. The Hungarian side of her family was Jewish and had lived in Budapest during the war where they were fortunate to survive the Nazi occupation of Hungary and not be deported.
In England, Zsuzsi became an engineer and was an active trade unionist and was branch secretary of ASTMS (Association of Scientific Technical and Managerial Staffs). Zsuzsi was a member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament from its foundation and an active member of the Bromley Peace Council.
Orpington Branch is saddened to lose the support of a committed WILPF member.
