International Women’s Day (IWD) is a holiday celebrated annually as a focal point in the women’s rights movement. IWD gives focus to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.
The theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025 is “Accelerate Action”. At the current rate of progress, it will take until 2158 to achieve full gender parity, according to the World Economic Forum. This year’s campaign emphasises the urgency and importance of accelerating efforts to eliminate systemic barriers and biases that impede women’s equality.
