WILPF UK Resolution on Palestine

At WILPF UK’s Annual General Meeting in May 2026, we voted in favour of the following resolution expressing our support for the people of Palestine, and outlining actions we would seek to take.

WILPF UK recognises the Israeli war on the Palestinian people as a serious, dangerous, brutal, volatile conflict with world-wide repercussions.

We congratulate our members who have consistently supported solidarity marches and Women in Black Against War and Militarism vigils calling for a just peace for the Palestinians, in spite of increasing police actions against demonstrators.

We are pleased that the WILPF’s UK Section, and individual members have written repeatedly to government demanding an end to arms sales and a recognition of the genocide taking place in Gaza.

Now we must also focus on the West Bank where illegal Israeli settlers, supported by the state of Israel and backed by the Israeli military, are, among other things, increasingly seizing Palestinian-owned land, attacking and murdering Palestinian civilians, destroying homes, crops and animals, and decimating infrastructure.

Following the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling on the plausibility of genocide by Israel in Gaza, the recent NGO report led by Oxfam about settlement trade and the UN commission of inquiry report finding Israel culpable of committing genocide in Gaza by deliberately targeting children, WILPF UK and our members individually resolve to:

  1. Continue to march and vigil in support of a free homeland for the Palestinian people
  2. Write to the government at every opportunity to expose illegal acts by Israelis in the West Bank and Gaza
  3. Seek a UK Government ban on all arms and weapons parts traded directly with Israel and through third parties
  4. Seek a UK ban on all goods and services imported from illegal Israeli settlements in the Occupied Territories in line with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign.
  5. Promote and buy Palestinian goods (which can be bought online through the Ethical Shop) at every opportunity.
  6. Support Israeli war resistors and other Israeli and Palestinian groups working together and protesting the Israeli government’s support for the genocide and settlers taking over the West Bank.
