Dear Prime Minister and Cabinet Members
Will the UK government now condemn the war crimes of the Netanyahu government of Israel?
The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF UK) calls on the UK government to take a principled position and now publicly voice its rejection of the lies of the Netanyahu government and withdraw its support for Zionist Israel.
After months of bombardment leading to over 50,000 deaths and the destruction of Palestine’s infrastructure; weeks cutting off electricity, preventing food, water and medical aid entering Gaza, and herding Palestinian people from pillar to post both in Gaza and the West Bank, a final further atrocity is executing paramedics attempting to rescue civilian casualties.
What does it take for the UK government to condemn the war crimes of the Netanyahu government of Israel and use its influence to stop the onslaught?
There is no hiding behind the fiction of anti-semitism when video footage shows illuminated Red Crescent vehicles, and personal testimonies describe dead people with hands tied behind their
backs. The ultimate attempt to hide this atrocity was using bulldozers to bury bodies and vehicles in sand. That Israel prevents international journalists, and now British MPs, from entering Palestine surely indicates that they do not wish the world to know of their atrocities.
Please take action: condemn the violence, stop the sale of arms and technological support to Israel, comply with international law and end the UK’s complicity in the genocide, and use the UK’s influence to obtain a ceasefire and a permanent solution. There can be no peace in Israel without justice for the Palestinians.
The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom UK, with a century of experience opposing war, invites you to take a public stance and to address Israel’s actions in Gaza through the lens of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 – the women, peace and security agenda, that has its 25th anniversary in 2025.
Yours in peace
