This book is by one of our WILPF historians, Jane Grant. Emmeline was a leading Suffragette who was eventually side-lined by the imperious Mrs Pankhurst (who ended up as a Tory candidate!). Emmeline became a peace activist, one of only 4 women from the UK who reached The Hague in 1915, and a WILPF pioneer. Her husband, Fred, was a lifelong supporter of her work. A good read.
