DESCRIPTION:The seventieth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 9 to 19 March 2026. \nRepresentatives of Member States\, UN entities\, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to attend the session. \nThemes\n\nPriority theme: Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women and girls\, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems\, eliminating discriminatory laws\, policies\, and practices\, and addressing structural barriers\nReview theme: Women’s full and effective participation and decision making in public life\, as well as the elimination of violence\, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-fifth session)

SUMMARY:WILPF's First Global Call of 2026
DESCRIPTION:WILPF members are invited to join the first Global Call of 2026 on Tuesday 17 March 2026. This call will be a supportive and reflective space where we will share updates on the changes affecting the International Secretariat\, discuss how WILPF bodies across our movement can support each other as well as current tools and priorities to strengthen connection\, build organisational resilience and collective power.\n When? Tuesday 17 March. Two sessions will be offered:\n– Morning call: Tuesday\, 17 March 2026 9:00 am.\n– Evening call: Tuesday\, 17 March 2026 17:00 pm \n\nRegister to morning call\nRegister to evening call \n\nGood to know: The sessions will be facilitated in English\, with colleagues available to translate into Spanish and French on the spot. Due to funding cuts and an uncertain budget\, we are unable to allocate formal interpretation services for the call.
